Here we go again - off on a new adventure in our 2017 Airstream 25ft Read Bed Twin.

We were in the position finally to get our airstream. So, went down to Portland Adventure Airstream to have a 2nd look at what size we wanted - 25ft or 27ft. Also, we really thought we wanted a twin bed and not the normal queen bed model. With the twin bed you really get another room, as you can walk all the way back. 25ft twin bed was what we decided on. They did not have one, but the salesman Nick said he thought one was coming in to the Seattle dealer. He would let us know. A few days later he sent the listing showing this 2017 25ft RTB. If we bought it they would bring it down from Seattle at no charge. So, we once again drove back to Portland (7 hour round trip drive) and bought it sight unseen. A week later they had the trailer in Portland. So, you got it, another 7 hour round trip back to Portland to pay the balance and pick her up. Man she was in great condition. Also, Portland Airstream did a great job detailer her and gave us a bunch of great stuff at now extra charge. New Goodyear tires, smoke and gas detectors, and an huge box filled with all kinds of parts and goodies we thought we would have to buy. We didn't expect that. They went through with us the whole jig front to back and how to work everything. They did a great job. We spent the night there hooked up to water and power. Funny, they close the gate at nigh, so if you go out, as we did, they tell you to just drive around the gate, over the landscaping and out onto the road.  OK, I guess that is what you do - we did it.

Nice looking rig! Heading home across HWY 26 Portland to Ocean Park, WA.

2017 Nice clean interior.

2018 Ford F-150 XLT with Max Towing Package.
Funny, just like the airstream I went to the Ford dealer and confirmed what I needed to have to pull a 25ft 8,000 lb Airstream. They confirmed this truck, but didn't have any. Then the buyer came into the office and said he had one coming up in a few hours. So, I stuck around the area and did some errands. The salesman called and I got back quickly. Test drive and told them I'll take it! Walked back into the dealer and two other salesman met me and asked if I was going to buy it. Yep! Damn they said there were three other buyers on their way in to buy this truck. I found out later one was one of my fellow drivers at Pacific Transit. The truck cost $29,900. That was about what I have seen for a 75,000 mile good clean F-150; and the fact that three other buyers were inbound to buy it said something. I have been driving it for several months and it is the nicest drive I have every owned. More importantly Rose likes it too.
